Pain and Injury to our muscles and joints. 😢 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🚴‍♀️🦶

Muscle pain and joint pain can be caused by many things. When our muscles and joints have to work harder or work in a different sort of way to normal they are put under pressure. This can result in several types of damage, and this in turn cause us pain and discomfort.

Hardworking muscles and tired feet! After a workout or run ease the aches with our balm

We’ve all done it haven’t we…..got up in the morning and decided today is the day we start training to get fit or fitter in some way. We go off for a great run or a high intensity work out. By doing this we immediately put our muscles under pressure. We are overworking them. Our muscles try and compensate for this by burning more Carbs. They do this to try and make more energy when our oxygen levels get too low. This then produces a build up of lactic acid and this makes our muscles sticky and they become more difficult to move as their efficiency is decreased and we feel pain. 😥

running can cause pressure on our muscles and result in injury and pain our muscle balm can help relieve the pain

Sometimes the muscles micro fibres and connective tissues get damaged or torn with overwork. These traumas are either macrotrauma….. major tears caused by a single event eg sprains, dislocation, ruptures of tendons etc.

Or microtrauma…..small tears caused by repeated use of muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints and bones. It can be caused by repeated exercise even simple tasks like the gardening.some of injuries caused by microtrauma are achilles, tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, golfers or tennis elbow, runners knee, shin splints and tendonitis.

Any damage to joints that causes interference with movement causes pain and inflammation such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoidarthritis, back pain, gout and sprains etc

Gardening can cause all sorts of aches and pains. Our muscle balm can help ease these

Once we get the pain in our muscles and joints whatever the cause we need to ease the pain. There are many products on the market but in these days of all natural products how can we find something that is not full of chemicals and additives that is going to be effective.?

I spent a lot of time researching natural painkillers. I have come up with a formula that works it is as effective as any others I have tried. I have had many muscle strains and often over exert myself especially when running. I tend to think I’m still in my 20s and can run as easily as I did then, when of course I cant and my body always lets me know that I have overdone it. Our balm helps me everytime it immediately relieves the pain and gradually eases the inflammation in my muscles.

I researched what ingredients have the best properties for all the issues with muscle and joint pain…..I needed anti inflammatories, analgesics, and antispasmodics.

I chose Olive oil as a base oil as 1.5 tablespoons of it has the equivalent of approx. 200mg of ibuprofen so it is a powerful pain killer. I used a blend of essential oils for their particular properties. Eucalyptus which is cooling on muscles and reduces inflammation, it is particularly effective in treating arthritis and rheumatism along with relieving joint stiffness and restricted mobility. Peppermint as it has amazing analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic properties, it helps relieve the spasms that produce muscle cramps, Helichrysum is also a strong anti-spasmodic. Wintergreen which is a methyl salicylate. Methyl salicylate is a one of the main ingredients in asprin which makes this a powerful analgesic. It also helps cool down the irritation and promotes blood circulation. Cajeput this is effective in joint pain as produces a warming sensation. Lastly Clove which has powerful anti-inflammatory properties and is also a warming oil.
