Not all oils however are created equal. Because of a lack of industry standards and a lack of regulation on terms such as "natural" or "pure", most of what you find at cheap outlets is NOT a therapeutic grade of essential oil and may lack real quality or even contain contaminants or additives.
A lot goes into creating a high-quality essential oil. A good brand should follow these guidelines:
Proper plant varieties and Botanical names should be shown on bottles
Each plant should be grown indigenously for the healthiest plant, this should be without chemical pesticides, herbicides, or additives.
They should be harvested with precise timing to ensure peak properties and extracted with proper temperature and pressure to preserve oil molecules.
The chances are, if you’re buying a large bottle of essential oils at a pretty low price, it’s not a pure oil. Pure essential oils tend to come in smaller bottles and are more expensive. Because they are so potent you only need 1 or 2 drops per dose, and they will last quite some time.
Unfortunately buying a cheap oil results in people being disappointed in essential oils as they don’t get any benefits from them. They then tend to think there are no benefits or that they are a fad.
